Summer Vacation Has Turned Into “Emma Finally Answers All the Emails She Missed”

What started as a summer inbox cleanup became a journey through hundreds of Mini Cannon stories from around the world.

Hi everyone,

This summer has been a little different than I expected.

A few weeks ago, my sister Cara and I finally finished a very busy school year. I’m getting ready to start 6th grade, and Cara is getting ready to start 1st grade. We spent months preparing for entrance exams, school interviews, homework, projects, and all the things that seem to come with growing up.

The good news is that we both got into the schools we were hoping for. Even better, Cara will be attending the same elementary school that I once attended. I'm pretty excited about that.

After all the excitement settled down, I finally decided to do something I had been avoiding for a long time:

Clean up my email inbox.

Big mistake.

Or maybe a wonderful mistake.

I discovered dozens and dozens of emails from people around the world.

  • Some people wanted to know about shipping.
  • Some wanted to know which firecrackers work best.
  • Some were building model warships.
  • Some wanted discounts.
  • One person wanted eight cannons.
  • Another wanted to start a business partnership in the United States.
  • And some people had been patiently waiting for replies for months.

In one case... almost a year.

Oops.

The funny thing is that this email address started as my personal email. It was supposed to be for family, friends, teachers, and school. But because of our Mini Cannon videos, people from all over the world somehow found it and started writing to me.

So now my summer vacation has become:

"Emma finally answers all the emails she missed."

I've been reading every message carefully.

  • Sometimes I ask my dad for help.
  • Sometimes I answer them myself.
  • Sometimes I read an email and think, "Wow, somebody on the other side of the world really watched our videos."

That feeling is pretty amazing.

My dad always tells me that every order is a real person, not just a number. Reading these emails made me realize he's right. Behind every email is someone who likes history, engineering, fireworks, ships, models, or just thinks miniature cannons are cool.

Even my little sister Cara has become part of the process.

Whenever I read an email to her, she usually has one of two responses:

"That's cool."

or

"That's way too loud."

Usually the second one.

So if you've sent me an email and never received a reply, first of all, I'm sorry.

Second, I'm probably reading it right now.

Thank you for watching our videos, supporting our little hobby project, and sharing this adventure with us.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think there are still about twenty more emails waiting for me.

Wish me luck.

— Emma

P.S. Cara would like everyone to know that miniature cannons are still too loud.
